The next product of one of the largest Nikon Technologies, Nikon D3000 as specified by the company is a 10.2 megapixel is DX format DSLR camera on 30 July 2009. It supersedes the D40 for Nikon's way in level DSLR. It has a 3.0 inch two lakh thirty thousand-dot resolution liquid crystal display, CCD sensor certified by ISO 100 – 1600. It has a 3D tracking AF system which makes it equivalent to the Nikon D200. At the starting it was priced at $599, prices decreasing day by day.
Compared to the other products like the Nikon D40, D60, etc. the D3000 is deprived of an within body auto focus engine, which implies that only F-mount lenses labeled with AF-I ,also AF-S compatible and automatic focus mode is an added feature. Nikon comes up with a new entry in digital SLR camera with a bang. What an amateur likes is that they can take beautiful and high quality of photograph without thinking about the technicalities of it. Well the wait is finally over because Nikon showed that what it takes to surpass the difficult hindrances without any headache for the user. Nikon D3000 is nothing but the extension of venerable D4 series but with lots of added features which was missing in the previous version of the DSLR range.

Nikon D3000 now sports an EXCEED image processor which works in concert with high resolution. With the addition of new image sensor and image processor has also increased both speed and sensitivity to the camera. Auto focusing has also leaped from the previous version of D40. (126 x 97 x 64 mm) which weighs around 28.2 oz (800 g) it is not light weight but still it is very handy and can easily fit in left palm. Taking a snap is quiet similar to Nikon D4 series with added features like 11 auto focus. Nikon’s viewfinder is also very helpful taking photos from a long range or from a short range.
Overall shooting with Nikon D3000 was a pleasure. It works well, easy interface and simple to use. As a consumer commodity it is worth paying for.
